Booking A Newborn Session.
If you're expecting a baby, congratulations!! There are so many things to plan before your little one arrives, and newborn pictures can often be one of those things that can easily get pushed down the list. But, before you know it, that tiny baby will be here - and changing every single day! Pictures are one of the only ways to really help document this sweet phase. All the tiny details, sweet snuggles, and sleepy yawns. If you live around the Pensacola, Florida area, let me help take one more thing off your list!
One thing I hear pretty often is surprise that many newborn sessions are booked before baby is even born! That's crazy right, booking baby pictures before you even have a baby? There are several reasons why that is and why booking early can make things smoother and easier for you. I recommend booking sometime in your second or third trimester and we use your due date to secure your space. Since babies don't always arrive on schedule, I keep flexibility in my calendar so we can find the perfect session date whenever your baby may arrive.
- And if you're already holding your baby and haven't booked a session yet, don't worry! It's not necessarily too late! Because of my relaxed workflow and years of experience, I'm comfortable scheduling sessions beyond that "ideal" age. Reach out and we'll se what we can do!
What are some things to look for when researching photographers?
- Years of experience and training with handling newborns is top priority! Safety is most important when posing tiny babies.
- A style that you love. A photographer's portfolio is a good idea of what your images will look like. Some edit bright and airy while some love a darker, moodier approach. Find someone with a look that you could see hung up around your home.
- Check reviews and recommendations. Someone who is consistently producing quality work as well as satisfying and interacting well with their clients is huge.
If you're in or around Pensacola, Florida and searching for a photographer for your little one, I would love to be your Pensacola Newborn Photographer! These are some extra things that I provide that I think are important.
- Most importantly, an all inclusive experience. My studio sessions always include all your images so you aren't having to make endless decisions while picking and choosing images. I want this to be as smooth and as easy as possible, not be adding to your to-do list.
- Endless amounts of props and accessories. My studio is filled to the brim with all the items we need to create beautiful images. And every piece has been hand selected by me and created by someone especially with newborn photography in mind.
- An option to schedule in studio or at home. Some people really love a more lifestyle approach for their photographs. But if you have baby and decide cleaning up and preparing your home for a session isn't your idea of a good time, the studio is a welcoming and easy option.
- The option for a long photographer relationship photographing your sweet family! I'm not just here for the baby phase, but also all the other moments afterwards. First birthday celebrations, baby milestones, and family pictures as your kiddos grow. Count me in for all of it!
What happens after you book?
You're booked and all set! Now, I just wait to hear that baby is here! You can keep me in the loop in the case of any scheduled c-sections or inductions if you'd like. Ideally within the first 2-3 days of baby being born, you'll shoot me a quick text or an email. Then, I'll provide a few date options. Normally we'll schedule the session for anytime around 1-3 weeks old, and really it's up to how YOU feel. I strongly believe that a 3 week old baby and a less stressed mom is better than getting you in early while you're still recovering.
Now for the fun stuff! Once you're scheduled, I'll send over a short questionnaire so you can request colors and details that you'd like to see at the session. You can also request certain poses or props that you'd like me to incorporate into our plan. My goal is to make the session feel as easy and relaxed as possible so you don't need to bring anything other than baby and milk.
Are you located around the Gulf Coast and ready to book!? I'd love to hear from you! My studio is located in Pace, Florida and I'd love to help photograph your little one.
__ with love, your Pensacola Newborn Photographer
